PMU PRECARE

  • DO NOT

Do not work out 48 hours before the procedure.

  • AVOID SUN & TANNING

Avoid the sun and tanning on the face 2 weeks prior to the procedure. We cannot work on compromised skin.

  • NO WAXING, THREADING...

No waxing, tinting, or threading 1 week prior to the procedure. The more natural hair you have, the better.

  • DO YOU SMOKE?

Clients who smoke cigarettes have delayed wound healing and accelerated skin aging. You are essentially responsible for your own results.

  • NO ALCOHOL, ASPIRIN...

No alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or pepto bismol 48 hours before the treatment. They may cause thinning of the blood.

  • AVOID SUPPLEMENTS

Avoid fish oil, prenatal vitamins, nutritional shakes & "hair-skin-nails" supplements. They can increase bleeding time or thin the blood.

  • NO CAFFEINE

No caffeine the day of the treatment. It may make you jittery. Although caffeine is not a blood thinner, it will increase blood pressure.

  • STOP CHEMICAL EXFOLIANTS

Discontinue Retin-A, chemical & laser peels, microdermabrasion, alpha hydroxy acid & any chemical exfoliants at least 6 weeks prior.

  • PRIOR BOTOX

Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be done 3 weeks prior or 2 months after the procedure. Symmetry can be hard to balance with too recent of botox.

PMU AFTERCARE

Absorb (Day of)

After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue or unscented baby wipe to absorb excess lymph fluid.

  • Do this every 5 minutes until the oozing has stopped.

  • Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids.

Wash (Days 1-7)

Wash daily to remove bacteria, build up of products and oils, and dead skin. (Don't worry, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT)

  • Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and gentle soap or an unscented cleanser like Dial Soap, Cetaphil, or baby shampoo. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently to gently cleanse the area.

  • Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away.

  • To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue.

  • DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic ,or AHA), or exfoliants

Moisturize & hydrate

Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of your aftercare gel 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.

  • Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin.

  • Never put the product on a wet or damp tattoo.
